The journey through the province of Córdoba passes through 'el Sendero de Largo Recorrido' ('Long Distance Path') GR-39. It begins at the provincial border of the province of Jaén, and the dam of the river Yegüas. Before reaching Montoro (there is an alternative route which involves reaching this village) it rises towards the north searching for the Valle de los Pedroches (Pedroches Valley) and going on into the region of the Valle del Guadiato (Guadiato Valley) towards the province of Sevilla.
Except for parts of the first stage, getting out of the Guadalquivir valley and climbing up the Pedroches valley, the route of the TransAndalus in the province of Córdoba does not present any significant difficulties. The Pedroches valley does not have a particularly complicated topography for cyclotourism, although those who like the downhill stretches would do better to select another province.
